Quantum Technology

Quantum Technology can be divided into three main areas, Quantum Sensors, Quantum Information and Quantum Computing.

  • Quantum Sensors offer ultra-precise measurements of gravity, time, force pressure and more, using either solid state or photonic systems. This could for example be used to map structures underground, navigation for autonomous vehicles and much more. Some quantum sensors are available already today.
     
  • Quantum Information enables safe communication now and post quantum computers. This could be done using Quantum Key Distribution and post Quantum Cryptography. This is currently a thriving research field with some solutions already being tested.
     
  • Quantum Computers will be able to solve highly complex problems our classical computers cannot. Two areas (among others) where Quantum Computers can have a significant impact are chemistry and life science.

Quantum Technology
